Have you ever heard of the term “content saturation”?Working at home

These days, this refers to the fact that some niches are simply bloated with content, meaning you hear the same basic ideas from everyone.

Some niches are “highly saturated.” For example, any commodity service—such as HVAC, law, medicine, and home care—have a glut of content available on every topic. Standing out in any of these niches as well as many others is challenging.

With this in mind, here are some posts you can create to grab attention and stand out from the crowd:

  1. Opinion Posts

These posts are a great way to attract a following and especially so if you are a B2B business. Admittedly, it takes courage to post them because most people are afraid to stand up and say something different.

However, because (as you’ve learned) so many businesses say the same old thing on their websites, opinions that respectfully dissent offer a great way to attract attention. The one downside to this type of post is it takes deep industry knowledge or extensive research to create.

  1. Industry News

Since information now spreads like wildfire, you likely won’t have the luxury of being the first to learn about exciting news. However, you can be the one who stays in touch with these sources and reports on the latest news—and provides associated insights—to your readership.

Add in your opinion on the matters reported, and you have a nice recipe for success.

  1. “List” Posts

You see these all the time: “9 Tips To…” Yet, even list posts saturate today’s Web. So to stand out, you need to go above and beyond the conventional list post. This may look something like “27 Tips for…” or “52 Tricks on…”

Again, uniqueness grabs attention.

  1. Case Study/Customer Success Story

Smaller businesses don’t often use these, but they certainly should. A “case study” simply means you tell the story of a customer’s problem and how you solved it.

While this might sound trifling, case studies are a powerful way to earn trust (and thus sales) from customers.

  1. Expert Advice

For this one, you can conduct brief email interviews. Brief two-to-three-sentence snippets experts have discussed on their own blogs work as well! Compile a bunch of those quotes into a single post on your own blog, and you suddenly have a very nice post with original content.

Just make sure you provide each expert with a link and share your post with them too. Why? This can result in traffic coming back to your blog, a win-win.

Most Companies Do What’s Quick and Easy on Their Blogs…

…and that’s a problem. Running a blog that mesmerizes your readers takes a lot of time and hard work these days, and you can no longer get by with content written in your spare time.

You can please Google and maintain your search rankings, but if you really want to stand out and grab attention, you need to put in large amounts of hard work with uber-engaging blog posts.
