This Branding Secret Could Make You Big Money…

There’s a new way to brand your company online, and it’s going to be huge.  If you’re not a techie, it may sound kind of strange at first.  But once we explain the idea, it’ll make good clear sense why it works.

Basically, what’s happening is that new top-level domains (TLDs) are going to become available.  A TLD is something you are very familiar with.  For example, .com is a TLD.  Other ones you might know include .org, .edu, .gov, .biz, .us, and so on.  For computers, TLDs are there so computers have a clear, structured understanding of the internet.

For humans, TLDs translate IP addresses (192.168.1.1 might be the address for your router for example) to easily understandable domain names.  They also add trust.

You recognize certain TLDs like .com, .edu, .org, and .gov, so therefore you automatically place a certain level of trust that those domains are safe places to be.  If you see a TLD with .info or .net, though, you might be inclined to place a little less trust in that domain.

Why This is Happening

ICANN (the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers), is a nonprofit organization responsible for assigning all the unique names and numbers for all websites.  Basically, ICANN is the reason we have one global internet.

When ICANN sees a need for new domains that help users browse the internet, it may choose to create more available domain names.  And we’re going through one of those time periods right now.  The following new TLDs are available right now:

  • .bike
  • .clothing
  • .guru
  • .holdings
  • .plumbing
  • .singles
  • .ventures

And these will be available on 12/3/13:

  • .camera
  • .equipment
  • .estate
  • .gallery
  • .graphics
  • .lighting
  • .photography
  • .sexy
  • .tattoo

Why Should You Care?

In addition to allowing these new domain names to become available, you can get a domain name with your brand name in it.

For example, if you’re a plumbing company, you can get a domain name that looks like this:

Johnsmith.plumbing.com

Or if you own a bike shop, you could get this:

evergreenshop.bike.com

Increasingly, Google is choosing to care more about established online brands and less about domains with keywords and good technical SEO.  It’ll also be easier for your customers to find your brand online.  So, from both Google’s and your customer’s perspective, it’s easier to find your established brand online.

Speaking in terms of revenues, that’s going to be huge for your business!

But You have to Act Within 30 Days or Risk Losing Your Domain!

If your domain name is available, you can order it.  If it’s not yet available, then you can sit on a watch list until it becomes available.

However, owners of the trademarked business name have the first opportunity to register it within 30 days.  This is called the “Sunrise” period.  After that, the domain name gets put up for grabs to the general public.  You can rest assured someone has a lot of money set aside to pick up names and resell them at much higher prices.

Fortunately, it’s not too hard to register your desired TLD during the 30-day Sunrise period.  All you have to do is visit i5domains.com
